The North West Club hosted a stand at the English Winter Fair on the 19th and 20th November 2011 and held a competition in aid of the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Three heifers and one bull were on the stand by courtesy of Matthew Jones - Graymar Gucci, Elaine and Mark Hartley - Pendle Foxy, Adam Neachell - Cromwell Gia and the bull Cromwell Goliath. Mr Gary Moores of P H Winterton Ltd sponsored the prize and Frank Marshall & Co assisted with the purchase price of a Limited edition of the Border Fine Arts British Blue Cow and Calf Figurine. The club would like to extend our thanks to them for their support. The competition was to guess the combined weight of two of the heifers, Graymar Gucci and Pendle Foxy. The combined weight was: 977kgs By choosing the correct weight our congratulations go to prize winner, Mr Gron Bamford of Powys who was attending the event as the Trainer and Coordinator of the Montgomeryshire Young Farmers team who were taking part in the National YFC Stock Judging competition.
We would like to thank all those who took part in our competition and £180 is on its way to the North West Air Ambulance Charity. The club was very pleased to offer hospitality to everyone who came to the stand and we hope to see you all again in 2012. Jackie Smith |
