Bank of Ireland British Blue Young Bull Championship 2016

The prestigious annual Bank of Ireland British Blue Young Bull Championship took place on Saturday 16th July 2016 at Castlewellan Agricultural Show.

Jason Edgar, the NI Blue Cattle Club Chairman introduced the judge John Killen from Crossgar and Jim Harrison from the Irish Shows Association. Jason also expressed his thanks to the Bank of Ireland for their sponsorship and to the exhibitors for their support and commitment to the breed.

The competition was open to Pedigree British Blue Bulls born on or after 1st October 2014 and on or before 30th June 2015.

Champion went to Springhill Kojak, a May 2015 bull sired by Adajio de Bray with dam Springhill Golden Girl and owned by J&S Martin from Newtownards.

Reserve Champion went to Knockagh King, a January 2015 bull sired by Almeley Ethan with dam Littlederry Flossy and owned by W J Ervine from Newtownabbey.

John enjoyed the experience and wished all the competitors future success with their young bulls.
